Some call these folks greeters, as they are generally the first parishioners visitors and fellow church members are likely to encounter before service. A vital ministry of outreach and service, greeters are trained and serve on a rotating basis as a group with a group leader. There is no age requirement to greet. In addition to welcoming guests, greeters answer questions, act as ushers, and are responsible for the safety of the parish before, during, and after services.
