Pew Kneelers

A gift from an HTA member has launched a project to replace our current pew kneelers with installed, wooden ones. HTA was invited by the (Catholic) Church of the Epiphany, a closed parish in Cleveland, to remove and recover their pew kneelers for use at HTA. Not only did this gift offer HTA a significant financial savings, it also preserved consecrated church furnishings that would have otherwise been discarded. Moreover, the recovery and restoration project also provided a means by which HTA could improve our worship space while remaining ecologically responsible. It is a win-win-win project!

The kneelers have already been sanded and refinished. They will be installed for use once the fabric has been removed from our current kneelers and fitted for use on the new ones. Fr. Joe expects the project to be completed by Lent 2012 (when we'll be doing a lot of kneeling!). New Logo for

HTA

The HTA vestry recently voted to change the church logo to a more universal Anglican symbol known as St. George’s Cross. The new logo is the most recognized Anglican symbol in the world and it is the most used symbol in the churches of the Anglican Communion, including The Anglican Church in North America. While the vestry knew that many people were fond of the old logo, they felt that St. George’s Cross more correctly identified us as Anglicans and thus offered a more inclusive witness to our long history that dates back to the Church of England.
